The second half of our little trip last month found Nell and me visiting my dear friend Story and her family in Virginia.
The days were beautiful.
It was the perfect kind of vacation; not filled up with busy sight-seeing or activities, but just enjoying everyday life things alongside a friend. Playing with babies, reading books to little ones, going on walks, and of course, staying up late after children and babies were sleeping to talk. Or watch movies. Or eat cheesecake.
We went to the library.
{Mercy attempted to show Nell that there's more to books than poking your finger into the binding.}
At eighteen months old, Mercy was already leaps and bounds ahead of what Nell can do, and little Nell, just eleven months old at the time, seemed quite intrigued by Mercy's ability to walk around and use words. Nell was also eager to imitate Mercy's eating habits, and sat in a booster seat eating everything Mercy ate, albeit in smaller quantities. I guess there's something to be said for role models, even baby ones.
At times there were not two babies in the house, but three! Always in motions, those babies. I snapped a photo with my phone of the chaos.
And we went to the park, where Nell got to enjoy more swinging. With Mercy!
Mercy likes to go high, and Nell didn't seem to mind in the least. Daring girls.
The joys of swinging aside, I should have taken more pictures of the trip. You'll just have to take my word for it how nice it was to leave the normalcy of home life and go visit some friends.
Of course, it was nice to come back to the normalcy of home, too.
It was so great having you here!
