Our afternoon involved cuteness:
{Yesterday at a wedding, while Nell was wearing a cream-colored dress, no fewer than three people referred to her as a boy. So today we tried out the hair bow, just to make things even more unmistakable.}
more cuteness:
and summer cherries:
oh, and an afternoon nap for all three of us
and a few episodes of White Collar
It was a nice, relaxing summer Sunday.
There are only so many of these types of summer Sundays left, you know.
Soon Nathan begins a new job as organist of a large church in downtown Boston, and the school year gets back into full swing, and I'll have more lessons to teach than I do in the summertime, and gigs and weekend concerts and all those things will resume.
Those are all good things.
But in the meantime, we're enjoying the good summer things.
How do you like to spend your summer weekends?
Even when I had Emma in pink dresses, there was always someone who would refer to her as a boy...and the same with Jack in blue sweatshirts, thinking he was a girl. I don't understand it at all...
ReplyDeletePeople are goofy when it comes to guessing boy or girl. They fixate on the weird things. I bet with the bow people will still say boy. The bow is very cute though!
ReplyDeleteAnd I apparently like to spend my weekends canning or working on the house, that is, if you go by what I actually do most summer weekends! Hmm. I'd like to spend more of them hiking and reading (preferably on my non-existent deck) but I am not sure how to make that happen! Oh well, it is a good life still. Ok, enough with the blog comments, time to do the breakfast dishes!
